Mighty Sphincter

I stumbled across this video yesterday. Mighty Sphincter is one of my favorite bands and this video just happens to be from what I consider their best release (the album and video are from 1985).

I did the design for the CD release of this album several years back (above). It was honestly one of the coolest projects I ever got to work on. I have no idea if this CD is still available for sale but I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Thanks. -Jonathan

Design: Lunchmeat

Here's a design project I'm currently wrapping up. It's my friends Josh and Ted's fanzine "Lunchmeat." This print mag is dedicated to Horror and Cult movies that are only available on VHS.

These guys are so purposefully old school they don't have a website or MySpace and don't take Paypal. However you can find out how to get a copy by e-mailing them at LunchmeatVHS@gmail.com

Thanks. -Jonathan

Illustration: Körperwelten

So, what the hell have I been so busy doing?

This is one of the many illustration and design projects that have been consuming all my free time.

This an original illustration for the project Körperwelten to be released by Malignant Records soon.

This CD is a collaboration between Lee (ex-NAVICON TORTURE TECH / current LOVE IS NOTHING) and Henrik (NORDVARGR).

I haven't heard the final master yet but what I have heard sounds excellent. I am very pleased to be part of the project.

The return of CRAZY

Sorry for the lack of updates. I am so insanely buried in graphic design work right now I can't do much else.

Soon my freelance design activities are going to take a backseat for a long time so I can get some new paintings done.

Please be patient with me for the next couple of weeks.

Thank you. -Jonathan

ANGEL OF DECAY R.I.P. (2002 - 2008)

I am retiring my ANGEL OF DECAY recording project. The main reason for this is that I want to focus on my art. I may come back to recording down the road but not anytime soon.

Malsonus.com will be redesigned and drastically simplified soon. The malsonus shop will remain open and will be updated as regularly as possible. The ANGEL OF DECAY MySpace profile will remain active and will soon feature my past projects as well.

There are a couple of recording projects I have been involved in that are upcoming. News about those will be posted on my blog as they become available.

ANGEL OF DECAY may be playing a couple of live shows in the late Summer / Fall - nothing is confirmed as of yet but stay tuned.

All news relating to my creative output will continue to be posted on this blog.

Thanks very much to those that have supported my musical output for so long. ANGEL OF DECAY may be laid to rest but I doubt I will stay away from recording music forever.
