David Lynch - Lumiere

Amazing little movie.

I got this and a handful of other recent inspiration from the blog over at actualpain.org. Make sure to check out their Mixtapes section too (but stick to the metal ones and "BLESSURE GRAVE", trust me).

New Painting - Case 2.9

Well, it's about time right? Here's a new painting I just finished a couple of days ago. I intend on cranking out a lot of new artwork over the next couple of months.

I didn't realize it until the paint dried, but this reminds me a bit of one of my favorite old Pushead cover illustrations.

If you haven't noticed I have resumed posting more often on Black White Red. That's because my day job is starting to calm down a bit. I don't think I will ever go back to posting daily because of Colors of the Dark but, hey. Take what you can get, I say.

Nightmares Cassette and 7" EP

As you may know I recently toured as part of the dark analog synth group Nightmares. We had two tour only releases - a CD and a Tape (limited to 100 copies each). Both Mark and David from the band are sold out of their copies all my CDs appear to be spoken for.

HOWEVER I have just a few of the limited Nightmares Tapes (4 copies as of 11/9) available for sale.

I also have plenty of the 7" EP (limited to 300) so you can buy that at the same time if you like.

This is a first-come-first-served deal. I don't want to mess with reserving copies so DON'T ASK. Please E-MAIL ME FIRST at malsonus[at]yahoo[dot]com before you send payment to confirm there are any left. Again, E-MAIL FIRST before you send the $$$.

More specific info on each release is on Discogs.com

Here are the prices (US Media Mail and International First Class postage paid):

Tape = $6 US / $8 Canada & Mexico / $10 World

7" EP = $9 US / $11 C&M / $13 W

Sorry, no combined shipping discounts.

Due to the very low quantity on offer, do yourself a favor and don't wait to get in touch if you are interested.

Paradise Lost - live in 1989

I have been listening to "Lost Paradise" this morning so I figured I'd share the doom. It's honestly the only Paradise Lost album I really enjoy (yeah, I know... but "Gothic" just doesn't do it for me personally). If you like death / doom metal and don't own this, shame shame I know your name. You can get it here.

Which reminds me, there was a very old book called "Doom Eternal" that warned of the torments of Hell. As soon as I saw that I said to myself "self, now THAT is a metal band name." I'm sure there are already 20 groups on MySpace with that name. That book "The History of Hell" I mentioned a few days ago listed "Doom Eternal" among a litany of other very metal sounding Hell related old volumes.

BTW - if you poke around on YouTube you can find more songs from the same Paradise Lost concert. It's also on DVD.

Nasum / Napalm Death Picture Disc

Well it's been a while but the Nasum / Napalm Death - Live Picture Disc LP just arrived in the mail. It looks GREAT. If you weren't aware, I did the above illustration for the Nasum side early last year.

The Pic Disc is limited to just 500 copies and it seems that no distros currently carry it. So, if you want a copy your only option is keeping an eye on eBay sadly.

There's always a chance the label will decide to repress. If that happens I will post a link to where you can get it.
